In this guide, we\u2019ll walk you through how to install a carbon fiber trunk spoiler the right way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What You\u2019ll Need Before You Begin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>3M tape (We sell this along with promotor at checkout)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adhesion Promoter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Isopropyl alcohol<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Painter\u2019s tape<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Microfiber towel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plastic pry tool\/Dental floss (for OEM spoiler removal)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If there is tape left over tape from the previous spoiler we use an eraser will attachment to remove the leftovers <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83e\uddfc <strong>Step 1: Clean and Prep the Surface<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>First, clean the trunk area where the spoiler will mount. Use alcohol or adhesive remover and a microfiber towel for this step. Make sure you remove all wax, oils, and residue for a strong tape bond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your car has an OEM spoiler, remove it using a plastic pry tool or dental floss. Gently lift the edge and work across the trunk. Remove any leftover adhesive and clean the paint beneath it, we use our 3M eraser wheel for this. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the surface is fully prepped, move on to test-fitting the spoiler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important Note: Ceramic Coating and Spoiler Installation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your car has a ceramic coating, it may affect how well the spoiler adheres.<br>Ceramic coatings can prevent the tape from creating a strong bond with the trunk surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To ensure proper adhesion, you must <strong>buff the area where the spoiler will sit<\/strong> and remove the coating.<br>This step allows for a clean surface, giving the 3M tape the best chance to stick securely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udcd0 <strong>Step 2: Test Fit the Carbon Fiber Spoiler<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, align your new carbon fiber trunk spoiler on the edge of your trunk. This helps you understand how it fits and where the tape will sit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use painter\u2019s tape to mark the corners or edges for reference. Make sure the spoiler is centered and follows the trunk\u2019s lines. Don\u2019t rush this step\u2014it\u2019s key to getting a perfect install. This step helps create a stronger, longer-lasting bond between the surfaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Start by applying the promoter to the area of the<strong> <\/strong>trunk where the spoiler will sit. Then, apply it to the underside edges of the spoiler where the tape will be placed.
