What Is Carbon Fiber?

There are a couple different styles, but the most common is the 2×2 twill weave. This patter is what matches BMW’s OEM perfectly and gives you a clean uniform look.
At RW Carbon, we use 2×2 weave carbon fiber on most of are parts. A lot of the e9x chassis are 1×1 because that was the industry standard at the time.

What Is Forged Carbon?
Forged carbon is a different process. Instead of weaving carbon strands together, manufactures press chopped carbon pieces into resin under a lot of heat and pressure. What’s really cool is no 2 parts look alike as different pieces and sizes are laid and pressed in all sorts of ways each time. A lot of enthusiasts choose forged carbon because of the one-of-a kind styling.
We do offer forged parts however, we don’t usually stock it as it is for custom orders.
